My Name is Will!
Pleasure to Meet You :)
I am one of the Execs of MHS this year! I am in my second year of Life Sciences, with a minor in commerce.
I wanted to get involved with the Men's Health Society at McMaster because I genuinely believe this area of society lacks information. As well, society tends not to accept Men's Health as an issue, creating this stigma around Men's mental health, preventing them from seeking help.
In my opinion, Men should be able to portray their emotions however they please, without the thought of being looked down upon for showing these emotions. Men's health, especially Men's Mental Health, has been a huge topic that has been stigmatized by society. A lot of men struggle to reach out for support because of this stigma that surrounds mental health. This shouldn't be an issue! Men should not feel like they cannot express their feelings and should have the ability to access support without toxicity.

As a society, we should ultimately try and eradicate this image that has been built around Men's health. Our generation has the power to alter this thought of being vulnerable. McMaster Men's Health Society is an excellent opportunity to educate students at McMaster about various topics that affect Men's health.
I am incredibly excited to be apart of this team, as this is an excellent opportunity for myself to gain knowledge and ultimately broadening my understanding of Men's Health.
